Spiced Hot Chocolate Recipe

Hot chocolate is a timeless classic that everyone loves, especially during the winter season. It’s a delicious and comforting beverage that warms you up from the inside out. Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-10 minutes or until the hot chocolate has thickened slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream (if desired) and a cinnamon stick for garnish.
