Scallops are one of the most delicious and easiest seafood dishes to prepare. They are quick to cook, versatile, and require just a few ingredients to make them taste fantastic. These Lemon Butter Scallops are perfect for a light and refreshing meal that is full of flavor. The tangy lemon and rich butter sauce perfectly complement the sweetness of the scallops, creating a dish that everyone will love.

Growing up, my family owned a seafood restaurant, and we would often have scallops for dinner. I remember my dad cooking them to perfection, and the smell of butter and lemon filling up our kitchen. This dish is a tribute to those memories and the countless happy moments we shared over delicious seafood meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh scallops, rinsed and patted dry
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge scallops in the mixture, shaking off excess flour.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add scallops to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove scallops from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add white wine and lemon juice to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has slightly thickened.

  5. Add scallops back to the skillet and toss in the lemon butter sauce. Cook for an additional minute until the scallops are fully coated in the sauce.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
